Hug-A-Tree
In keeping with our goal to safely return lost people to their loved ones, we offer the nationally recognized Hug-A-Tree and Survive Program. This teaches children how not to get lost in the wilderness, and if they do become lost, how to help themselves be found by rescuers.
For nursing home patients
A program for staff and loved ones in nursing homes is also offered covering what to look for and what steps to take if a patient wanders off.
It is of the most importance for those involved with a "walk away" situation. To know what to do to preserve a patient's scent and have it ready ahead of time. It is also important to understand that the family of a victim has the right to request a canine team to the appropriate agency.
Early containment of a victim when they are older is a high priority. Alzheimer patients or those lacking certain medication can become disorientated or confused preventing rational decisions. Time is the main factor to insure a positive outcome.
These programs are presented as an awareness program and are free to the requesting group.
